The very best of things have the capability of coming back to with something new, allowing you to enjoy it in different and new ways. While it's true that nostalgia doesn't hold up to revisited experiences (usually), who wants to live in the past when you can bring in fresh air?
I don't understand anti-nostalgia sentiment that is common with people. I didn't even know nostalgia had a "negative" connotation until I looked up definition after some epic flame fest I don't remember but one of the side arguments was how OSR was just "old people" nostalgia.
I dunno. I think I’d rate my most recent session of B/X—The Tomb of Amemnes at NTRPGCon—better than my earliest sessions of the game.
